I have been a self-employed Boat Builder since 1975. I first met Mark 15 years ago when we were both involved in re-engining a classic timber yacht. His knowledge and professionalism impressed me greatly and we’ve since done many jobs together. Ten years ago Mark completely re-built my 3 cylinder Yanmar yacht engine and I was present as he talked me through the entire process. This exercise was absolutely fascinating as Mark is not only a great technician, but a natural teacher and communicator. I thoroughly recommend any diesel course you can do with Mark and in fact, would suggest itʼs essential before going boating.

Iʼve done the Mechanics of Boating Course Level One and I can honestly say it was the best course Iʼve ever done. What I learnt in just one day has not only saved me hundreds of dollars in general maintenance, but I’m sure my boat will work for me whenever I need it to. Its a great day course and itʼs given me the confidence to get in and be involved with the boats engine.

I did the course before crewing on a friends boat to New Zealand. I was very impressed by the amount of information I was given and the way the class was conducted. The course definitely gave me a lot more ability and I felt more able to handle problems during the voyage. It was a good day all round and everyone who took part agreed. I intend doing the next level of these courses and I wish Mark all the best in the future.
